After all my research and influences, I have come up with my final designs that will be entered into the competition SizeSmall. Below is an image of my final ideas, one girl and one boy.
For the competition we were also asked to include a couple of variations of each garment, these can be found in my gallery section above.

More on View
Here are a few individual briefs that I have personally looked at for this project, Peaceful and Joyous. For my designs, as I have said in previous posts I have taken the blues and greens from these colourways. I feel that these colours fit nicely with children's wear and my designs.
Textile View
To get an idea of themes for summer 2013 and what trends have been predicted, I have had a look through the latest issue of View magazine to see their fashion forecast. Here is a brief outline of one of the themes they have outlined:

Second Fabric idea
As well as the Spotted fabric in my last post, I have also found this blue striped material. I feel the two fabrics go nicely together and have decided to use the two in my final design ideas.

First Fabric
Looking at materials I decided I wanted to use a spotty fabric as shown in this image. I have found this and similar in various shops, links below.

These are just a few of the shops I have found selling this sort of fabric. I have found more shops, however they don't currently have websites up and running.

Colours
I have picked out some colours from my mood board and other items of clothing I have looked at, including past collections from SizeSmall Copenhagen. I feel these colours are bright and summery and will do well in a 2013 collection.
Concept Designs
I have started my design process with some concept designs. This is an image of both a boy and girl in dress and dungarees.

The Brand
Brand Research
To design for another brand I must first look at their work. From here I can establish what fabrics to use, what colours are typically used and how i can make my designs fit alongside what this company has already produced.
"A SizeSmall copenhagen philosophy
Sizesmall copenhagen children's clothing had a true size small perspective on the world. It's all about fun, play, movement and self-expression. It's hip and often colorful.
Sizesmall copenhagen is timeless Danish design with an edged of wildness. The clothes are always made of the best quality materials. Fabrics are souced from all over the world, from Japan to France and the major part of cotton used in the collections are always organic."

Children
I have started by looking at what children currently like, from books, television and games to outdoor adventures and getting dirty.
From the information collected, I have devised this mood board showing the colours, themes and trends that occur throughout spring and summer.

SizeSmall
SizeSmall has offered me the opportunity to enter their competition, where I am to design children's wear for spring/ summer 2013. I am very excited to have this opportunity and already looking at what children's wear consists of and how I could develop both girls and boys summer wear to something I would like to see on the market.
